Research & Development

Powering what comes next, engineered in Singapore

At S Triformix, research and development is the engine behind every product we ship. Our R&D Centre at the Singapore headquarters in Fusionopolis is where three decades of precision manufacturing heritage meet the demands of AI-era power delivery — and where our proprietary digital power solution suites are conceived, designed and validated.

Inside the Lab

Where ideas become power architectures

Every product begins as a design review around a table — topology trade-offs debated, efficiency targets set, and customer requirements translated into schematics. Our engineers work side by side, from first concept sketch to validated prototype.

Engineering Focus

Four product lines, one engineering philosophy

Our R&D organization drives four product families, each pushing the efficiency frontier of its class:

  • HV IBC Modules — high-voltage intermediate bus converters up to 2500 W, converting 340–450 V inputs down to 48 V or 12 V at up to 97.6% peak efficiency with 4242 Vdc isolation, purpose-built for high-voltage data center architectures.
  • Non-Isolation Standard Bricks — DC-DC converters scaling from 1300 W to 2000 W at 98.0% peak efficiency, delivering high current density in industry-standard footprints.
  • Fixed-Ratio Converters — ultra-compact modules (23.4 × 17.8 × 7.7 mm) reaching 98.2% peak efficiency, enabling the 48 V power architectures that modern AI racks demand.
  • VR Modules — voltage regulator modules delivering up to 160 A at 0.5–1.8 V output in a 10 × 9 mm footprint, powering AI accelerators, GPUs and high-performance processors at the point of load.

Software Ecosystem

A digital ecosystem around the hardware

R&D at S Triformix goes beyond silicon and magnetics. Every product is backed by a unified software ecosystem spanning simulation, online configuration, real-time monitoring, alarm management and fault diagnosis — so customers can model, deploy and manage power systems across the full product lifecycle, from first design-in to fleet-scale operation.

Research Pedigree

Leadership with deep research roots

Our engineering direction is set by veterans of semiconductor and power R&D: a CTO with a Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Engineering, PMP certification, 15+ years in advanced CMOS and silicon photonics and more than 20 patents and publications; and an SVP of Research & Development with over 30 years across wafer fab, packaging assembly, quality assurance and R&D at firms including IBM and SAE Magnetics (TDK). They are supported by a board that includes a retired NTU Associate Professor who led up to SGD 12.5M in A*STAR research grants — grounding our innovation in rigorous, grant-grade research discipline and active collaboration with university laboratories.

Custom Solutions

Customization as a core capability

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all power. Our teams excel at developing customized, innovation-driven solutions — adapting topologies, form factors and control firmware to each customer's architecture, and supporting them from prototype through production at our Malaysia manufacturing centre, backed by 24/7 global technical support.
